Fees are set each season and paid once your child has a place in a team. If cost is the thing standing in your way, read the second half of this page.
Season fees
What you pay, and to whom
There are two separate charges in junior basketball, and knowing which is which saves a lot of confusion:

The exact dollar figures change each season and are set by the committee. The live amount is shown before you pay — that is the authoritative number.

Cost shouldn't decide this
If fees are the reason your child isn't playing, please talk to us before you give it a miss. This happens more often than you'd think and it is handled quietly.
Get Active Kids Voucher Program
The Victorian Government provides vouchers of up to $200 per child toward membership, uniforms and equipment.
Who's eligible: children named on a current Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, and on a valid Medicare card.
Timing matters — it runs in rounds, not continuously. Round 10 closed in March 2026. A further round has been signalled for around September 2026, but check the official page for current dates rather than relying on us.
Talk to the club
If a voucher round is closed, or you aren't eligible, or the timing simply doesn't work — email the treasurer or the club's general address and say fees are difficult.
There's no form, no means test, and no need to explain your circumstances. It's a short conversation with one person, and it stays that way.

Uniforms
What to wear
The club uniform is the Panthers singlet and shorts, and the club provides both. Your coach or team manager will sort sizing out once teams are announced.
You bring non-marking runners and a drink bottle. That's the whole list.
Basketball boots can wait. Ordinary runners are perfectly adequate for a first season, cost a fraction as much, and children grow out of them within the year. If your child sticks with it and wants boots later, that's the time.
Jewellery has to come off before a game — that's a rule of the game, not a club preference. Newly pierced ears are worth timing around the season.
What to bring on game day
Club singlet and shorts, non-marking runners, a full drink bottle, and your court fee if your grade pays one. Arrive about fifteen minutes before tip-off so your coach can get everyone warmed up.
Rep uniforms are different
Players selected into VJBL or CBL squads wear Bacchus Marsh Lions uniforms, ordered through the association, not the club.
